Look at me, I'm a winner (or at least a finisher)

well, I did it. i finished the half marathon in a little less than 2 hours and 19 minutes. This is a little more than my goal time, but less than my "you better finish in less than this time" time. The rain held off until just after I finished. Normally I feel pretty lousy after a race. But I feel good after this race. I enjoyed running into the speedway and around the race track. As I was running on the track I thought it was never going to end, but then I realized the part I thought was more race track was actually part of the track that I already ran and I was at the end of the speedway part and onto the last 4 miles. The energy from all the spectators was great as was all the music along the way. One of the favorite parts of my race was 2 women running with their dad who had open heart surgery 8 months ago.  Now I have to start training for the Taste of Louisville. Maybe in a month I can cut 4 minutes off my time and get a personal record.  Now we are off to visit some Indy breweries so that Chris can blog about them.

  2. You are crazy, I think it would probably take me 3 days to do a half marathon. Keep up the good work though! Enjoy the beer, you deserve it!
